ASHA Women Cooperatives promoting Saving Schemes & Interest-Free Credit
Empowering Women Through Financial Inclusion
The ASHA Women Cooperatives initiative is designed to empower women—particularly those in underserved and low-income communities—by promoting saving schemes, financial literacy, and access to interest-free credit.
Many women face barriers to accessing traditional financial services such as bank loans or credit facilities. Through cooperative saving groups, ASHA provides a supportive system where women can save collectively, access small loans, and build financial stability.
Our Vision
To create strong networks of financially empowered women who can support one another, grow small businesses, and contribute to sustainable economic development within their communities.
Our Objectives
Encourage a culture of regular savings and financial discipline
Provide interest-free microcredit to women for business and livelihood activities
Support women in starting or expanding small enterprises
Promote financial independence and economic empowerment
How the Cooperative Works
Members of the ASHA Women Cooperatives:
Contribute small, regular savings into a collective fund
Access interest-free loans from the group for business or personal development needs
Receive financial literacy and entrepreneurship training
Participate in group meetings where members support and encourage one another
This cooperative structure promotes trust, accountability, and collective progress.
Economic Empowerment for Women
By participating in cooperative savings schemes, women are able to:
Start or grow small businesses
Improve their household income and financial security
Support their children’s education and family wellbeing
Build confidence and leadership within their communities
