Feed I,000 Initiative; Providing Nutritious Healthy Food to Children in Communities
In May 2022, Project ASHA launched the Feed 1,000 children initiative which aim to provide hot and nutritious meals to children across underserved communities in Nigeria.
In sub-Saharan Africa, a shocking 28 million children are experiencing stunted growth due to malnutrition - Save The Children.
With continuing food crisis, overall child development - mentally and physically - is threatened. They can not grow to their full potential and this is largely irreversible.
According to Feeding America, research shows an association between food insecurity and delayed development in young children; risk of chronic illnesses like asthma and anemia; and behavioral problems like hyperactivity, anxiety and aggression in school-age children.
Malnutrition is not a condition any child deserves. We need your help to combat hunger crisis in marginalized communities today.
In the first week of Launching the project, The maiden edition tagged #papasbreakfast raised over N126,000 from good people across the globe. There is still more to go!
Project ASHA will commence the initiative at Pako Community, to provide meals to over 300+ children. Overriding the need to provide children with nutritious healthy food, Project ASHA desires to empower parents and head of homes with soft grants to strengthen their business and livelihoods.
Members of the public are encouraged to make their pledges towards the Feed 1,000 children initiative.
